Mobile OperaMobile Opera presents three major productions each year and is recognized as one of the nation’s finest regional opera companies. Its education/audience development programs reach 75,000 Gulf Coast students annually.
Mobile SymphonyMobile Symphony offers a full season of concerts at the Saenger Theatre featuring the city’s own orchestra. The organization also sponsors free concerts in Cathedral Square, student concerts, in-school programs and a chamber music series.
Mobile's Singing ChildrenMobile's Singing Children is a community-based choral organization for boys and girls, 3rd - 8th grades and for youth in grades 9 - 12. A part of Mobile Opera's educational programs, MSC offers a year-round program for children who love to sing and perform.
TheatreSeveral local theater groups are active in the community, some with their own theater homes. The Mobile Theatre Guild, a smaller company presenting off-Broadway and other productions, has won acclaim at several international competitions. The Joe Jefferson Players is Alabama’s oldest dramatic company and offers large-scale musicals and dramas. The Pixie Players perform at the Playhouse in the Park. All performers, stagehands, costume designers and technicians in the company are young people, ages 8-19. The Chickasaw Civic Theater is also a popular company
Saenger TheatreThe beautifully renovated Saenger Theatre is an ornate, 1,900-seat theater. In addition to being home to the Mobile Jazz Festival and the Mobile Symphony, the Saenger has its own performing arts series featuring Broadway shows and musical groups.
Mobile Civic CenterThe Mobile Civic Center is a multi-purpose complex including an arena, theater and exhibit hall. The theater is home to Mobile Opera, Mobile Ballet and traveling Broadway productions. The arena hosts circuses, popular concerts, ice shows and other entertainment.
Mobile Chamber Music SocietyBernheim Hall, in the main branch of the Mobile Public Library, offers a more intimate setting for performances and lectures. The Mobile Chamber Music Society brings chamber groups and soloists to perform here, and the library uses the hall for its annual international film festival.
Mobile Arts CouncilThe Mobile Arts Council is a non-profit organization encompassing a variety of fine and performing arts. It promotes the development of quality arts programs and cultural growth.
Mobile BalletMobile Ballet produces three or four full-length ballets each year featuring its own corps de ballet and soloists from some of the world’s greatest dance companies. It also operates a dance academy.
Alabama Contemporary Dance CompanyAlabama Contemporary Dance Company, formerly Parapluie Dance Company, provides local dancers the means to further their training through performance.
